134 PKM Proposals Assessed in External Monitoring and Evaluation

UNAIR NEWS – Monitoring and Evaluation (Monev) of 5 (five) Field Student Creativity Program 2018 at Universitas Airlangga, officially opened by Vice Rector I UNAIR Prof. Djoko Santoso, dr., Ph.D., Sp.PD., K-GH., FINASIM., on the 3rd floor Kahuripan Building, UNAIR Campus C, Wednesday, July 18. Monev on the event was held by Ditjen Belmawa Ristekdikti for two days until Thursday, July 19.

The reviewers assigned by Directorate General of Belmawa are Prof. Dr. Ir. I Nyoman Sucipta, MS (Udayana University), Erika Takidah, SE., M.Si (Jakarta State University) and Dra. Titiana Irawani, M.Sn and Soewardi, M.Sn., both from Indonesian Arts Institute (ISI) Yogyakarta. There was also Director of Student Affairs UNAIR Dr. M. Hadi Shubhan, SH., MH., CN.

In the event, the four reviewers will evaluate 134 PKM proposals funded by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education (Kemenristekdikti) from nine universities. The PKM proposals included 110 from UNAIR students, nine from Trunojoyo Madura University (UTM) students, four proposals from Muhammadiyah University of Sidoarjo, four proposals from Madura Islamic University, two proposals from Wiraraja University students, and one each from Poltek Madura, STKIP PGRI Bangkalan, STKIP PGRI Sidoarjo, and University of Madura.

In his speech, Prof. Djoko Santoso said that Kemenristekdikti PKM program is a very noble program. It is expected to be bond young people as potential leaders of nation in a team work and as a mean of maturing leadership through educational competition.

“This monev, among others, is a selection strategy in creating replacement leaders, both leaders here (college – ed ) and in government. So in this monev, you are challenged to get through the existing scientific standards, “said Prof. Djoko, Professor of Faculty of Medicine UNAIR.

Challenges and selection must be done because we will face the 4.0 industrial revolution, so the nation is also challenged to move forward and develop so that one day we will not lose in technological progress.

“If you are not selected or do not qualify for PIMNAS (National Student Science Week), it is not a failure, only a delayed success. So keep trying, and continue to innovate and innovate, “said Prof. Djoko Santoso.

As reviewers’ representative, Prof. I Nyoman Sucipta said thank you to Airlangga University for hosting and receiving the PKM team from other universities with excellent service.

Prof. Nyoman said that the PKM participants are PIMNAS fighters, so that in performance they are also leader candidates in the sustainability of nation and state.

“You are selected students who have reached this stage, so only one step further to PIMNAS. Just how far the application, publicity, and possible patents output from your innovation. Because in fact the publication of this scientific publication is our hope, ” said Prof. Nyoman, the Professor of Udayana University.

After the opening the 134 PKM teams must present their innovations to the reviewers. The committee, assisted by Garuda Sakti UNAIR team, has divided the schedule and location of the presentation to the participants, until this Thursday, July 19. (*)
