UNAIR NEWS – “With commitments and collaborations, we have made tremendous a leap”. It was the statement of Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., during the opening speech in the Leadership Meeting (Rakerpim) 2018 Performance Contract Signing Session. It was attended by all leaders of UNAIR in AMERTA Hall on Wednesday, January 3.
Regarding the tremendous leap, Prof. Nasih showed the achievements made by UNAIR such as the five programs have made international accreditation. Prof. Nasih viewed the achievement was beyond his imagination.
“Because, in our view, this international accreditation can only be achieved in 2019. But, it was still in 2017, we have had it,” he explained.
In addition, the excellent achievement can be seen from the improved results for the Scopus indexed journals. From the report of Research and Innovation Institute (LPI) UNAIR, during 2017, there were 450 Scopus indexed journals. For Prof. Nasih, it was an outstanding achievement.
“Although we continue to pursue quality with various strategies, we are the best,” he said.
Despite this extraordinary achievements and leaps, Prof. Nasih insisted that all elements should not be complacent. Therefore, Prof. Nasih, said that in 2018, the challenges and the various targets must be faced with good commitment and cooperation.
“To be able to achieve these targets, hardwork alone is not enough. But, all must be integrated with all components, to work together with strong commitment, “he said.
Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. R. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., M.Kes., said that in achieving the targets which already declared, his faculty continues to encourage research-based education. For him, the target of the rector is not as challenging as the world’s demands.
“FKG fulfills this not only as to complete UNAIR’s targets. But, this is the target at global level. So this nation can be independent, “said Darmawan.
Global Reputation
In 2017, various international achievements of UNAIR come from various elements. The students have made extraordinary achievements such as the success of Wanala UNAIR team to reach Denali Summit, UNAIR Choir’s winning in Baiden, Austria, also UNAIR student success in Student Olympiad, and many others.
In the field of collaboration, UNAIR has collaborated with various world universities. In addition, UNAIR researchers have gained real recognition in their contribution to the world of science.
“For all of these, we thank to hardwork, collaboration, and commitment together,” said Prof. Nasih.
