UNAIR NEWS – After undergoing university-level Campus Life Introduction for Freshmen (PKKMB) activities, freshmen participated in faculty level activities. In Faculty of Law. The activity is commonly called Justitia.
Not much different from the previous year, this time it was held for three days, from Wednesday, August 7 to Friday, August 10. The theme “Establishing Jurist Character with Critical Thinking Pattern Based on Pancasila and Tri Dharma of Higher Education” was chosen. Dean of FH UNAIR Prof. Dr. Drs. Abd. Shomad, S.H, M.H, gave a speech to 257 freshmen of 2018 UNAIR Faculty of Law.
The Head of the committee, Justitia Hanindya Seno Saskara, stated that the theme this time was chosen so that freshmen would be sensitive to the problems around them. In addition, they are expected to be able to carry out advocacy to solve it.
“Nowadays, we think most students this feel apathy towards conditions around them. In fact, there are many problems in the community, “said the fifth semester student.
“We as agents of change must be sensitive to the problems. And, we must advocate the community to solve existing problems. That is what we want to instill in freshmen, “Seno added.
As usual, students are given materials by lecturers such as on History of Student Organizations by I Wayan Tatib Sulaksana, SH, M.S; Academic Ethics, Conducts and Norms by Nurul Barizah, SH, LL.M; and the Role of Students in Organizing the Tri Dharma of Higher Education by Prof. Dr. Muchammad Zaidun, SH, M.Si. including the History of Higher Education of Law in Indonesia by Prof. Dr. Peter Machmud Mz., SH.
“The first day is the delivery of fundamental materials. Later the material can be used by freshmen to navigate the world of college, “Seno said. (*)
