57th Anniversary, FEB Develops Synergy from All Elements

UNAIR NEWS – Celebrating its 57th anniversary, Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Airlangga held the opening ceremony. The opening of the Anniversary invited all members of FEB Wednesday on August 8 at the FEB Corner.

The event was also attended by the Dean of FEB UNAIR Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak., lecturers, employees, alumni of the Faculty of Economics and Business (IKAFE), as well as FEB students.

Prof. Dr. Sri Maemunah Soeharto, SE, as senior lecturer and Dean of FEB in 1982-1985. On the occasion Prof. Maemunah said that in her 52 years service in FEB, a lot of progress had taken place. She also said that FEB should not be satisfied with their current achievement, but it must continue to strive for better achievements and it requires cooperation of all elements.

“Now the challenges we face are bigger. I always pray and encourage to be better in the future, ” she added.

Meanwhile, Head of IKAFE UNAIR, Drs. Ec. Haryanto Basoeni in presence of the audience recalled his past when he was a student. FEB Corner is a historical place, where the students graduation announced.

“There are a lot of changes we can feel right now. Hopefully, this 57th anniversary will be a milestone for FEB to advance more. We, as alumni, began to embrace FEB. Therefore, I hope alumni are often invited to cooperate, ” she added.

Dean of FEB UNAIR Prof. Dian said that Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education gave UNAIR a target to be among Top 500 World Universities by 2020. Therefore, a sense of belonging to all elements is needed.

“FEB is currently working very hard for that. I thank all those who have supported our alma mater to continue to excel, ” she added.

Furthermore, Prof. Dian said that cooperation and synergy of all elements including alumni are needed. To achieve this vision, they are expected to work side by side.

“Why did we start in 2015 to hold dies natalis celebration? To build a sense of belonging to all elements. We must work together, go side by side to achieve the vision, ” she explained.

Currently, FEB is identifying alumni who work in a position that is quite capable. Also, identify panelist academics to support this vision.

“I organize it to all lecturers, students and employees. This belongs to all of us and we are obliged to look after it, ” she added.

In the opening of the Anniversary, there was also a symbolic send-off event of village servants who would carry out community service in Jipurapah Village, Jombang. Citrus seeds were given to be planted in Jipurapah Village.

In addition, the event was also livelier with the prizes awarding session, five Umrah packages. It was closed by slicing the turmeric rice by the dean. (*)
