UNAIR NEWS – “Our Works, Our Nation’s Achievement” is the major theme taken in 73rd Anniversary of Indonesian Independence. The theme has incited the spirit of every element of Indonesian people to continue to work for the sake of creating achievements that makes a difference for the nation, including for academic community of Universitas Airlangga.

Regarding the big theme, in his speech delivered at 73rd Independence Day commemoration ceremony in the yard of UNAIR Campus C Management Office, August 17, Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Moh. Nasih said that in the academic realm, the theme ” Our Works, Our Nation’s Achievement” is the unity of two variables with different meanings. According to him, the word “Our Works” is an independent variable that involves individual role to take action and really work.

“Our Nation’s Achievement means a dependent variable that covers a wider level,” he explained.

For this reason, as one of the best higher education institutions in the republic, Prof. Nasih encouraged all elements of UNAIR academic community who were present at 73rd anniversary ceremony of Indonesia to join together to really work and make national achievements.

“Because the works of UNAIR academic community will also determine UNAIR’s achievements. For this reason, let’s be part of the nation’s, we must work with all the energy we have, to make UNAIR’s achievements and national achievements, “he said.

Before closing the speech, Prof. Nasih also reminded the audience about the big theme of UNAIR’s dies natalis “For Just and Civilized Indonesia”. The theme is expected to be one of the cornerstones of the entire community spirit to realize a just and civilized Indonesia.

“We must also remember that the spirit of our works will all contribute to creating a just and civilized Indonesia,” he concluded.
