UNAIR NEWS – The Student Creativity Program (PKM) team of Entrepreneurship (PKMK) Faculty of Medicine Universitas Airlangga succeed in making equipment of clinical facility to diagnose and conduct medical management in the form of Electronical Injecting Mannequin (ELIQUIN).

The innovative product, ELIQUIN, offered in price 599.000 Rupiah. It is cheaper, more flexible and functional than other mannequin product which range in price from 1,5 Million Rupiah to 2 Million rupiah. This research succeeded to get grant from Kemenristekdiki (Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education).

Lidya Pertiwi, a member of team, said that ELIQUIN is an injection tool that claimed as the first domestic product combines two injection applications, Intramuscular and Intravenous in the form of human hand mannequin which contain sensor in the injection point.

In the medicine, clinical skill is the most important point in diagnosing and solving the medical problems. Based on Indonesia Doctor Competency Standards (SKDI) 2012, a doctor is required to perform clinical procedures related to health by applying the principles of patient safety, personal safety, and the safety of others.

“So, the clinical skill of intravenous and intramuscular injections is an essential thing that must be mastered by medical personnel.  Thus, we hope, by the success of this innovation will provide solutions for medical personnel to hone skills and competencies through this ELIQUIN product, “said Lidya.

In addition to Lidya Pratiwi as a coordinator team, the others are Siti Ermawati, Mega Rizkya, Annisa Aulia, and Muchlas Rabbani.

“So, if it is used properly in intramuscular injection, so the sensor will produce sounds and light,” Lidya said

The sensors in this product are placed on the accurate location, depth, and angle of injection and adjusted to the anatomy of human body. In addition, the ELIQUIN is coated with a long-lasting and smooth latex material that matches of the human skin anatomy, allowing users to feel comfortable and not feel awkward when meet with patients.

In addition, ELIQUIN also has two battery slots A2 type which is reachable in any places. This product packaged with beautiful-flexible and portable bag, it is suitable for medical students who have high mobility and activity.

“ELIQUIN is cheaper, more flexible and functional than regular mannequin. ELIQUIN is a Must Have Medical Mannequin,” Lidya said
