UNAIR NEWS – Surabaya as one of the big cities in Indonesia has a high temperature. This heat causes some serious problems such as excessive sweat and body odor problem in the community which then causes low self-confidence.
Because of those problems, five students of Faculty of Pharmacy Universitas Airlangga, Noor Annisa Mones (2016), Nurullia Tanjung (2016), Anita Probo (2016), Ade Prima (2016), and Fayruz Aquila (2014), develop and innovation, a product which handles sweat and body odor problem as well as prevents yellow stain in the armpit part on clothes.
Their innovation was turn into a proposal for Entrepreneurship Student Creativity Program (PKM) titled“COOLPACK SUKET (Cooling Pack Sehat untuk Ketiak)”. After being assessed by Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education, the proposal qualified to get development funding in 2016.
Their innovation has produced Aloe-deopads, a product of pads and gel made of Aloe vera L. According to Noor Annisa Mones, Head of the PKM-K team from Faculty of Pharmacy UNAIR, the innovation has had market survey with student and community as respondents and they got good responses.
“We have done a market survey using online questionnaire and the result was quite good. We did in in March 2017 with 69 respondents interested to this product and hopefully the product can be realized,” explained Mones.
The pads attached to the clothes minimizes bacteria causing odor. Aloe-deopads is an alternative for deodorant used by the public to deal with excessive sweat and body odor.
Aloe vera L contains anthraquinone compound which resists bacteria, so it reduces odor causing bacteria. Aloe vera L gel contains lots of water which is cooling and deals with excessive sweats.
Mones and team packaged their product uniquely, so it can attract the customers. Aloe-deopads can be ordered through LINE id @flh8206j or Instagram account aloedeopads.
Aloe-deopads is used by attaching the pads in the armpit of the clothes and the gel is applied on the pads. Aloe-deopads is safe and useful. The costumers should not be worried to use it.
“With only Rp 25.000 the costumers can have two pairs of Aloe-deopads which give cool sensation in the armpit, they should not worry of excessive sweat,” said Mones. (*)
