UNAIR NEWS – Indonesia is a maritime nation which has coastline with vast mangrove forest. But unfortunately, local people could not exploit it well.
One of the mangroves species is Bruguiera gymnorrhiza well-known as lindur. The whole body of this plant could be used, especially, its fruit contained higher carbohydrate than rice and corn.
Five students of Faculty of Veterinary Universitas Airlangga create an innovation of noodle with main material dough from lindur fruit and it called MINDUR (Mie Lindur/ Lindur Noodle). They are Winda Kusuma Dewi, Paskalia Nike Fortuna Sihura, Shabrina Fauzia Prayoga, dan Wahyu Dwi Katmono

This innovation has succeeded get funding by Dirjen Dikti, Kemenristekdikti in 2017 of the Student Creativity Program of Entrepreneurship category (PKM-K). She said that Mindur was different from usual noodle.
“It’s different from usual noodle that are sold in marketplace, Mindur was processed without dangerous preservative. In order to high carbohydrate, Mindur also contains of antioxidant that effectively prevent free radical, as anti-aging, kill cancer cell and prevent damage to human body cells,” She said
Winda explained that there were many various flavor such as original, Balado , sweet-spicy and chicken onion. MINDUR also could be eaten directly, or cooked as consumer’s want. Recently, Mindur has been sold in Banyuwangi area, includes, in Banyuwangi prestigious event, Agro Expo Banyuwangi.
“For price, Mindur come out with affordable prize, Rp.5000 /per each consists100 gr. It is very affordable,” Winda said
She said that this product was not only sold by offline, but also online.
“Mindur is reachable to order by Instagram account @mie_lindur and through line @eam3990s,” She said
