UNAIR NEWS – After going through various preparations, the Study Program of Public Health PSDKU Universitas Airlangga in Banyuwangi finally welcomed the assessment team. This time the assessors were Dr. Dian Ayubi, SKM., M.QIH., from the University of Indonesia and Dr. dra. Nur Endah Wahyuningsih, M.Kes., from Diponegoro University Semarang in accreditation which was held on 28 and 29 March 2018.
Located at Campus Giri PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi, the assessor team was welcomed by Vice Rector IV UNAIR Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., Apt., Director of Academic Affairs UNAIR Prof. Bambang Sektiari Lukiswanto, drh., DEA, the UNAIR Faculty of Public Health officials, and the academic community of PSDKU Universitas Airlangga in Banyuwangi.
In addition, there was also Director of RSUD Blambangan representing Local Government of Banyuwangi Regency, dr. Taufiq H., SpAnd., M.Kes, Head of Banyuwangi Regency Health Office dr. Widji Lestariono, and Head of Banyuwangi Regency Education Office Drs. Sulihtiyono, M.Pd., with assistant.
According to dr. Muhammad Atoillah Isfandari M.Kes., as one of the lecturers of Epidemiology Department FKM UNAIR, the accreditation visitation was an effort to review the quality of the study program. PSDKU Public Health Program, added Atoillah, needs to be accredited by assessors from a professional institution.
“The assessors, in this case LAM PT-KES teams are expected to be able to provide an appropriate assessment to improve the quality of Public Health program PSDKU UNAIR in Banyuwangi,” he said.
On the same occasion, Prof. Dr. Tri Martiana, dr., M.S., as Dean of Faculty of Public Health also conveyed similar thing. She said that the ongoing accreditation process will determine the fate of the graduates and it is important.
“With this process, we have made the quality assurance effort. Hopefully, it gets assessment that we expect. Accreditation is important, because the number of enthusiasts of the program itself has been increasing, ” she explained. “Insha Allah, we’re optimistic with the results,” she added.
Furthermore, Head of Study Program (KPS) S1 Public Health PSDKU UNAIR Banyuwangi Dr. Drs. Mohammad Zainal Fatah, M.S., M.Kes said that the visitation has been prepared and expected for a long time. He added that as part of efforts to improve the status and quality of education in PSDKU Banyuwangi.
“Hopefully, this accreditation is able to provide good accreditation results as expected by the entire academic community of Universitas Airlangga in order to produce qualified graduates of Public Health,” he explained.
