Telkom University Discusses Partnership with UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Telkom University Bandung Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M. Eng., Ph.D., continues to establish partnership with several parties. One of them is Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). At the Rector’s office of Universitas Airlangga, Telkom University had a discussion on cooperation plan with UNAIR on Monday, April 30.

Prof. Ashari revealed that Telkom University is exploring for a possible cooperation with Universitas Airlangga because according to Ashari between the eastern region with the western region is not much connected. Therefore, Ashari tried to cooperate with UNAIR.

“Maybe for the first stage, we will collaborate in the field of community service (pengmas) and east and west exchange student program (UNAIR with Telkom University, ed) so there will be a connection,” he added.

Regarding the cooperation plan, the university will follow up as soon as possible. It also will try to implement the cooperation after the signing of memorandum of understanding.

Meanwhile, Rector of Universitas Airlangga, Prof. Dr. H. Mohammad Nasih, SE., M.T., Ak., CMA., said the collaboration can be implemented because UNAIR is currently focusing on research and teaching. In addition, UNAIR students can also learn IT (Information and Technology) at Telkom University which focuses on IT field and Telkom students can learn about business or health in UNAIR.

“If we can do the MoU, we can immediately implement it,” said Rector of Universitas Airlangga.

Regarding community service conducted by Telkom University, Prof. Ashari said that in addition to holding student exchange program, Telkom University also has assisted village located in ​​West Java.

“We are one of private universities (PTS) with A accreditation which are asked to build other private universities. We also assist rural area in the south of West Java, ” he explained.

Furthermore, Prof. Ashari also said that Telkom University has a hatchery farm. It is the result of cooperation with several universities in Korea and Indonesia. The community service takes place every year.

“Hopefully we can quickly implement this cooperation as soon as possible so it brings results and benefits for this institution and the entire nation of Indonesia,” he concluded.
