For Graduation Ceremony, BEM UNAIR Provide Stands for Business Tenants

UNAIR NEWS – The graduation moment is one of the most awaited moment for most students.  It can be considered as one of the summits of success in college life. The graduates often get “gifts” from relatives, friends, or close friends. These gifts brings business opportunities for entrepreneurs.

It is known well that graduation process is put to good use by business actors. This can be seen from the graduation procession before. Along the street from Faculty of Public Health to Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) was filled with business people selling various forms of gifts such as flowers, dolls, food and drink.

In order to organize the activities of the business actors, Student Executive Board (BEM) of Universitas Airlangga in cooperation with the Directorate of Education and Directorate of Student Affairs opened stands that can be used by business actors running their business during graduation day. The stand prices are quite affordable. For street vendors (PKL), BEM impose a tariff of Rp 225,000, for florists, the tariff is Rp 125,000, while for students only pay Rp 75,000.

Registration starts from 25 July to 28 June. In order to maintain order on D-day, BEM is holding a briefing on June 29 for the tenants. The graduation day itself in on July 1.

Until now, there is no more stands left except for the student category. Quotas provided for street vendors are 16, for florists’ there were 20 and there were 16 for students.

“I hope this activity can go on during the stewardship to facilitate young entrepreneurs in UNAIR,” said Jemmi Wahyu Santoso as Minister of Professional Development and Entrepreneurship.
