UNAIR NEWS – Being a dentist should not focus on dental problems. A dentist must be able to function as a medical or pioneer in the field of health, especially through their knowledge of science that has been gained and mastered.

That was the point of IKA Faculty of Dental Medicine (FKG) Universitas Airlangga  on the acceptance for new dentists inaugurated on Wednesday, January 17. IKA FKG is an organization that serves as a uniting forum for alumni FKG UNAIR for the benefit of the nation of Indonesia.

There are many members occupy several strategic and important positions, from government officials to high-ranking officers. One of them is First Admiral TNI Drg. RA Nora Lelyana. In fact, she is now the head of the Naval health service (Kadiskesal) and newly inaugurated as the head of IKA FKG UNAIR.

“A dentist certainly has an opportunity to occupy a wide field of work. Not just being a dentist but they (New Dentists, ed) can also occupy a strategic position, “said TNI First Admiral Drg. RA Nora after the inauguration in Graha BIK-IPTEKDOK.

“It can be seen from the alumni who have been involved. In fact, they are able to occupy a strategic position beyond the discipline of dentistry, ” she added.

FKG UNAIR has advantages due to the comprehensive education during college.

“Education in FKG UNAIR supports the working atmosphere later. Comprehensive learning climate that makes graduates accustomed to solve problems comprehensively, “said First Admiral TNI Drg. RA Nora.

With their knowledge, new doctors must be able to become a pioneer in the field of health to improve the sense of humanity towards others. One way to do it through the military field which is an organization engaged in the field of humanity.

“Wherever we work, we (alumni, ed) must be able to make the best contribution to the country. The advantage of being a doctor is that we have a charitable field that we can use. Which is certainly useful for people around us, “said TNI First Admiral Drg. RA Nora.

The role of IKA FKG UNAIR is certainly needed in improving the welfare for the community, especially in the field of health. Thus, a strong unity to build a relationship or network as alumni of FKG UNAIR is needed.

“With such strong relations, fellow alumni are able to work together. In the end, this can strengthen the ties of kinship among fellow alumni so the devotion to community and humanity works without many obstacles, ” she said.
