UNAIR NEWS – UNAIR students have long upheld their slogan “Excellence With Morality”. Various types of Student Activity Unit (UKM) based on religion implements good moral standards. One of the UKMs of UNAIR Muslim students is UKMKI (Islamic Student Activity Unit). UKMKI launched a new program called ARAH (Airlangga Berhijrah). It is expected to improve the quality of students’ faith for the better.

Nurruzzaman Mosque Campus B UNAIR last week was crowded with Muslim students enthusiastically participating in the launching of the program. There were a lot of students attending. Apparently, some students from other universities also attended in the mosque. Some were from PENS, ITS, PPNS and several other universities in Surabaya.

ARAH Program was inaugurated by the Rector of UNAIR Prof. Moh. Nasih, Director of Student Affairs. M. Hadi Shubhan, S.H., M.H., CN., and witnessed by dozens of students. As a sign of the inauguration of the program, the chants of prayer opened and followed by the ribbon cutting activity.

During the inauguration, Ustad Aditya Abdurrahman and Ustad Handy Bonny were asked to invite the congregation to hijra. Ustad Aditya gave advices to improve the quality of life. According to him, how to improve the quality of life can be done by always remembering death, good health, and remembering sins.

“We need to always remember death, good health, and remember our sin and our mistakes,” he said.

In line with Ustad Aditya, Ustad Handy Bonny as the second preacher said, the success of da’wah is not seen from the number of congregation but from the continuity of it. Quantity does not necessarily guarantee the quality of a group of da’wah.

“The point is istiqomah(continuity) ,” he said.

The event ran well and left a good impression on the congregation. The event was ended around 21.30 with a prayer together. Furthermore, ARAH will take place once a week every Tuesday night.
