UNAIR NEWS – As a form of service to students in easing them to perform banking transactions, Bank Bukopin Surabaya collaborates with Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) by installing Automatic Machine Teller (ATM) facility. The Memorandum of Understanding/MoU signing was held in UNAIR Rector office room on Thursday, June 9.

UNAIR was represented by Junaidi Khotib, S.Si, Apt., M.Kes, Ph.D, Vice Rector IV UNAIR overseeing university holding, and Bank Bukopin Surabaya was represented by Andi Darma, Head of the Branch. ATM Bank Bukopin will be located in ATM Center Campus B UNAIR as there are 22,000 students in Campus B.

“We would like to give facility for students related to our supports in education and learning and ease them, such as on SOP or SP3 payments (Initial Tuition Fee/UKA and or Semester Tuition Fee/UKS), or for other transactions,” said Junaidi.

The ATM installation is to ease students in making their banking transaction as well as providing security so they do not have to go far from the campus in making the transactions.

The Branch head of Bank Bukopin Surabaya Andi Darma said that besides to ease students making the banking transactions, the ATM is also to introduce Bank Bukopin or  as brand awareness in UNAIR.

“There are about 22,000 students in Campus B. So they need transactional simplification. Generally all transactions are through banks. Bank Bukopin is trying to provide support for that,” said Andi.

This collaboration is the first done by Bank Bukopin with a university in Surabaya. According to Junaidi, this ATM installation is an initial cooperation, which later will be followed by other forms of cooperation.

Currently, there is 37% of UNAIR students who is financially disadvantaged, 17% has been covered by scholarships from Bidikmisi Dikti, and 20% has been covered by UNAIR with affordable tuition fee. There may be a cooperation on education development in the future. It was supported by Andi Darma.

“in the future, we are developing house to house cooperation. It means we’re directly connected systematically with UNAIR. So we may be appointed as students’ payment facilitator or other transactions related to financial obligation in UNAIR,” said Andi Darma. (*)
