UNAIR NEWS – “A youngster today is a leader in the future.” It was the big idea to make youngsters know everything they do now is determining the future of the nation. There are many things done and prepared, one of them was an event which was held by Student Executive Board (BEM) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR).
In collaboration with PT. XL Axiata Tbk., BEM UNAIR held a talk show,“Leadership and Scholarship XL Future Leader”, on Saturday, May 21. Held in Excellence in Morality Hall, Faculty of Psychology (FPsi) UNAIR, the event was done to find youngsters with dreams and to make their dreams come true.
Ahmad Pradipta, represented PT. Xl Axiata Tbk. in UNAIR, said that the event held for the fifth time was looking for potential youngsters especially from UNAIR students.
“We have held this activity in UNAIR. Besides it is strategic, UNAIR students have great potentials in leadership,” he said.
The man known as Dipta said that this talk show is a publicization to students. After the show, there was some selection processes and education will be given to students who were through to the last phase of selection. He also added that the theme “Jalan Pemimpi Jadi Pemimpin (Dreamers’ way to be Leaders)” is the big theme since the first year.
“This activity is a media for the youth with great dreams to realize them, but they don’t know how to do it. Therefore we hold this activity,” he added.
Similar to Dipta, Ratna Dewi Kumalasari, representing BEM UNAIR said that this cooperation is an activity which brings a lot of benefits to students. The student who is the Minister of Foreign Affair of BEM UNAIR emphasized that besides scholarship, the program is also gives training to improve leadership skill.
“The benefits for the students there’s scholarship as well as a leadership training, she said.
The event also invited senior high school students in Surabaya. It is a medium for BEM to introduce various scholarships and admission channels to UNAIR.
“We also have a stand for UNAIR admission information and various scholarships in UNAIR for SMA students,” she said.
