UNAIR NEWS – Seven members of Student Executive Board (BEM) Universitas Airlangga have visited important institutions in Singapore. The program called “Airlangga Global Movement” (AGM) was held on December 5-6.
Delegates of BEM UNAIR visited Singapore were Head, Deputy and Foreign Affairs Division members. They visited Nanyang Technological University (NTU), National University of Singapore (NUS), Indonesian Embassy for Singapore, and Asia Pacific Economic Corporation (APEC).
The visit was made in order to support Universitas Airlangga to be a World Class University. The results of the visit can be used as evaluation of BEM UNAIR especially student governance, learning, networking and promotion division.
“Looking at NTU and NUS which are now in 12 and 13 of world universities ranking, we must learn a lot from them on organization management, study activity, organization and we also promote UNAIR to expand the network to reputable universities in the world,” said Indra Farizqi the coordinator of Foreign Affairs of BEM UNAIR 2016.
Beside visiting universities, they also visited APEC. They learned a lot on economic integration from APEC representatives receiving them.
“We learned on how to integrated global economy, handle social globalization dimension and develop continuous tourism by knowing APEC regulations,” said Farizqi.
With the visit, the students of UNAIR are expected to move forward and initiate high quality new programs as reputable universities in the world.
“The results of the visit will be presented to students especially the activists on how managerial system was applied from the student development and how to mobilize the students. Their students focus more on student service and entrepreneurship,” he said. (*)
