UNAIR NEWS – In 2018 Justitia, the orientation of Faculty of Law (FH) for freshmen, for the first and second day, freshmen were given insight about FH Universitas Airlangga, they were introduced to a semi-autonomous body (BSO). The BSO display is always done in Justitia activity. There were 14 BSO in FH showcased.

Like the previous years, on the third day, freshmen were invited to learn more about BSO. The activity was aimed at introducing the students that FH had a place to actualize their potential, interests in the field of law.

Being held in several FH lecture halls, the BSOs opened booths. The freshmen who want to register, can go directly to the booth. Previously, BSO representatives made a presentation.

One of the BSOs in FH is Business Study Forum (FSB). As the name implies, the BSO explores various matters concerning business law. FSB usually cooperates with several agencies such as Business Competition Supervisory Commission (KPPU), the Financial Services Authority (OJK), and Bank Jatim.

Almost all faculties of law have BSO FSB. However, there is a difference. In national scale, FSB joins the National Business Law Community under University of Indonesia’s FH Business Law Community (BLC).

There is also a Moot Court Community (KPS). KPS becomes a BSO that often draws attention during the showcase event because KPS shows the atmosphere in courtroom. That is one of the main attractions for freshmen.

In addition, there is also Airlangga Young Jurist Community (MYMA) which focuses on debate. The Airlangga Law Student Committee (KOMAHI) focuses on advocacy and litigation. International Law Student Association (ILSA) and the Asian Law Student Association (ALSA) cover the international sphere. Furthermore, there are also BSO engaged in spirituality such as SKI (Islamic Student Community) and SKK (Christian Spirituality Community).

“The freshmen should all be active in BSO. Because, by joining BSO, there are many interesting and certainly useful things for you, “said Director of FSB Firyal Iqbal.

“Whatever BSO you join as long as you focus in it. The results will be good later, “he added. (*)
