UNAIR NEWS – As a form of implementation of Higher Education Tri Dharma, academicians of Faculty of Dental Medicine Universitas Airlangga has collaborated with FKG Universitas Lambung Mangkurat. The signing of the memorandum of agreement was done in Faculty of Medicine Hall, on Tuesday, May 9.

It was attended by the officials of both institutions. There was  Dean of FKG UNAIR Dr. Darmawan Setijanto, drg., and  Dean of FKG Unlam Dr. drg. Rosihan Adhani, S.Sos., M.S.

After the signing session, Darmawan said that the collaboration established is in education, research, and community service. In education, both institutions will evaluate their learning achievements.

“For example, we used method of learning A and the result was this way. FKG UNAIR usually uses student centered learning and problem based learning. Competency based we use are the same but the method is not. How to decide the passing of competence level and all,” said Darmawan.

In research, FKG UNAIR with other dental medicine education institutions, including FKG Unlam, is currently conducting research on dental and oral healthcare. With method standardized by World Health Organization (WHO).

In community service, Dean of FKG UNAIR said that his faculty will receive five lecturers from Unlam for internship program in UNAIR. “It is a way of disseminating knowledge of our professor. We are targeted to disseminate through books and journals, but we also want to share our knowledge to Unlam,” said Darmawan.

As planned, the collaboration between FKG UNAIR and FKG Unlam will be actualized in 2017. (*)
