Cured from Cancer, Rahma Graduated Best from FEB Master Program

UNAIR NEWS – Rahma Nuryanti,S.Si., MA., never stop praying and thanking God Almighty as she succeeded in finishing her studies even when she had hardships. During her master program in UNAIR, the graduates born on March 14 1985 had to undergo chemotherapy in Graha Amerta RSUD Dr. Soetomo as she had cancer. Nothing is impossible for God, therefore she keeps trying and never misses her schedules for therapy. In 2015, Rahma was cured from cancer and in her third semester she was pregnant.

“During my pregnancy, I experienced hyperemesis, but I was thankful that I could finish the third semester with good GPA. In the 8-9 month of pregnancy I started working on my thesis, so that I can finish my study as scheduled,” she said.

Even though she was diagnosed with cancer, she did not give up. During her study she was also busy in Statistic Center Agency (BPS) of East  Java. The last of two siblings have tips and tricks to finish her study well, from managing her time and using the campus facilities effectively.

”Never waste your time,” she said. Regarding scientific works, the woman who is keen on reading always prioritizes originality and uniqueness. They are shown from her thesis called “Internal Control System Organization: Formal and Informal Aspects (Case Study BPS of East Java)” which made her appointed as the best graduates with the highest GPA 3.90. Rahma chose the title because there was still limited public sector with internal control system (SPI) organization.

“I conduct the research on internal control system organization in public sector, as it was still limited and only the formal control aspect is considered. It has not been able to cover the role of human as individual with significant role in SPI organization,” stated Rahma. (*)
