Yulianna Puspitasari was born in Surabaya, on July 12, 1981. In 1999, she started to study at Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Airlangga, Indonesia and completed her study for the degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) in 2005. She commenced the Master of Veterinary Science degree in the field of Veterinary Immunology at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia in 2008. She was involved in a research project to study the Brucella melitensis in goats and completed her study in 2011. In 2014, she was appointed as a junior lecturer in the Departement of Microbiology, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universitas Airlangga. In May 2016, she started the Doctor of Philosophy programme at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Universiti Putra Malaysia, in the field of Veterinary Pathology. During her PhD candidature, she published peer-reviewed papers, participated in workshop, conferences and winning awards.
