UNAIR NEWS – Graduation is not the end of the journey, but a beginning. It is the first step for alumni to continue their service and contribute their best to society. On Saturday, October 4, 2025, Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) held its Graduation 254, conferring degrees upon 1,196 of its top graduates at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC), MERR-C Campus. Among this cohort, UNAIR graduated 16 international students from Malaysia, Timor-Leste, and Nigeria.
In his address, UNAIR Rector Professor Dr. Muhammad Madyan, S.E., M.Si., M.Fin., expressed his congratulations and immense pride to the graduating class. He emphasized that graduation is a sacred milestone, marking the culmination of a long and demanding journey of intellectual pursuit.
“Today’s ceremony is not just a formality; it is a recognition of the hard work, dedication, and commitment you have demonstrated,” he stated. “Every step you have taken has forged you into true ‘Airlangga Knights,’ ready to face future challenges.”
Achievements and call to serve
Professor Madyan also highlighted several of UNAIR’s significant accomplishments this year, including its rise to #287 in the QS World University Rankings and its position as the 4th-ranked university in Indonesia. He stressed that these achievements are the direct result of the relentless effort of the entire academic community.

“These milestones are more than just numbers; they reflect the hard work, dedication, and collaboration of every one of us. Furthermore, they open doors for you to grow and create an impact on a broader scale,” he told the graduates.
The rector went on to state that the graduates are the living embodiment of UNAIR’s educational quality in the public eye. He urged each graduate to go forth and serve their communities with the knowledge they have gained, and to do so with all their heart and mind.
“Beyond outstanding achievement, I encourage all graduates to dedicate themselves to public service,” Professor Madyan emphasized. “Uphold the principles of HEBAT (Honest, Excellent, Brave, Agile, and Transcendent) in your lives. Let this be not just a motto, but a reflection of your commitment to becoming a source of inspiration.”
