Good health of mothers and babies is central to health of societies. Access to effective care during pregnancy, childbirth and postnatal periods is essential for good health of mothers and babies. This University of Adelaide & Universitas Airlangga project aims at improving capacity of six hospitals and departments of health across Samarinda, Kutai Kartanegara, Balikpapan districts of East Kalimantan and Pasuruan, Jombang, Tuban districts in East Java, Indonesia. This will be achieved by training staff to assess quality and by supporting them to introduce changes to improve quality of care. The project is led by Dr Afzal Mahmood and Prof Gustaaf Dekker at the University of Adelaide and Prof Budi Santoso, Prof Hendy Hendarto and Dr Muhammad Ardian Cahya Laksana of Universitas Airlangga. Project team includes Prof Brahmana Iskandar, Syarifah Masitah, Dr Muhammad Hud Suhargono, Ismi Mufidah, Dr Sulistiawati. The project is supported by East Kalimantan provincial department of health and departments of health across participating districts.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
