UNAIR NEWS \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0To enliven the last ten days of Ramadan 1443 H,\u00a0Universitas Airlangga<\/a>\u00a0(UNAIR), as one of the best state universities in Indonesia, has distributed 3,000 Berkah Ramadhan <\/em>(Ramadhan Blessing) packages to various communities such as orphans, Bidikmisi students,\u00a0ojol\u00a0drivers, pedicab drivers, and other groups affected by Covid-19 pandemic.<\/p>\n\n

SDG Point 1: No Poverty<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

With the ranks of leaderships, UNAIR Rector, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE MT Ak,released the distribution of packages at the Airlangga Convention Center (ACC) MERR-C Campus on Saturday, April 23, 2022. According to him, the activity was based on UNAIR\u2019s concern and service to the community. <\/p>\n\n

The distribution is one of UNAIR\u2019s first SDG implementation points, ending poverty in all forms. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cWith or without the existence of SDGs, this (UNAIR food distribution, ed) is held regularly by UNAIR. Especially due to our concern and service to the surrounding communities,\u201d he said. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cNot everyone has the opportunity to share in this holy month. Our focus is sincerity,\u201d added Prof Nasih.<\/p>\n\n

Increased total of packages <\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Meanwhile, the Head of UNAIR Partnership and Management Development Board (BKMP), Dr Eko Supeno Drs MSi explained that there was an extraordinary increase in the number of packages to be distributed in the third year of this activity. \u201cThe first year was 1,500 packages; the second year was 2,000 packages, the third year is 3,000 packages,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

In addition, there is an increasing number of package distribution points.\u00a0There were only 32 points initially, and now it has reached 69 points.\u00a0The packages were distributed by 39\u00a0pick-up trucks.\u00a0They were delivered not only in Surabaya, but also in Gresik, Sidoarjo, and even Tulungagung.<\/p>\n\n

Even though the number and distribution points have increased, Dr Eko emphasized that the contents of the packages are still up to standard.\u00a0The contents are rice, oil, milk, sugar,\u00a0snacks<\/em>, and other household needs.<\/p>\n\n

Dr. Eko also mentioned that this activity fully supports\u00a0the green policy.\u00a0It did not use plastic bags in the distribution of packages.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cThere are no more plastic bags. We use good bags, and the bags can still be used for shopping later,\u201d he explained<\/p>\n\n

For Indonesia<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Dr. Eko also conveyed his gratitude to the parties who have fully supported the activity. For example, LPPM (Institute of Research and Community Service), BKMP, PKIP (Center for Communications and Public Information), Bonek Community, Indonesian Stand-Up Community, Pick-up Truck Community, team of staff, HR (Human Resources) Directorate team, and UNAIR ACC (Airlangga Convention Center) team. <\/p>\n\n

At the end of his speech, Prof. Nasih hoped that the activity could positively impact UNAIR, especially for vulnerable people affected by Covid-19. <\/p>\n\n

\u201cHopefully, we will be given health and faith to contribute significantly to the nation and states.\u00a0Both locally, nationally and globally.\u00a0God willing, we will reap\u00a0the best impact<\/em>,\u201d said Prof. Nasih.<\/p>\n\n
