Hansel Alexander, Tri Wahyudi, and Dhea Anggraini won First Place at 8<sup>th<\/sup> Pharmacovent National Pharmaceutical Debate Competition held by Universitas Muhammadiyah Prof Dr. HAMKA.<\/p>\n\n<p>There were various topics covered in the competition. The team leader Hansel Alexander said that their first topic was the urgency of pharmacoinformatics as a new pharmaceutical discipline. \u201cFollowed by one of the current hottest issues on medical marijuana legalization,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<p>Both topics are impromptu motions, topics that are informed ten minutes before the debate starts. The limited time challenged the teams to organize their arguments.<\/p>\n\n<p>The Pangkalpinang, Bangka Belitung-native student explained that to prepare for the competition, they conducted research on the current pharmaceutical issues in order to stay updated.<\/p>\n\n<p>The team also got guidance and feedback from the supervising lecturer Andi Hermansyah SFarm MSc Ph.D. Apt to prepare for the competition.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThe most important part is to practice more and receive feedback for improvement. I think both will help improve our confidence to compete,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Motivation and hopes<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n<p>Since he was young, Hansel has always admired figures who can speak well in public. It keeps him motivated and encourages him to practice public speaking and gain more knowledge.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cFor me, debate competition channels my interest. It is a way to improve my skills,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<p>The team member, Tri Wahyudi wished that the debate team culture in UNAIR Faculty of Pharmacy will continue and passed on to future generations.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cSo the debate team representative of the Faculty of Pharmacy may become more significant in every pharmaceutical debate event,\u201d said Yudi.<\/p>\n\n<p>Dhea Anggraini, the team member, suggested the students not be afraid to try despite the difficulties.
