{"id":184664,"date":"2023-01-22T08:46:26","date_gmt":"2023-01-22T01:46:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/get-to-know-van-deventer-maas-indonesia-scholarship-opening-in-february\/"},"modified":"2023-01-24T09:45:46","modified_gmt":"2023-01-24T02:45:46","slug":"get-to-know-van-deventer-maas-indonesia-scholarship-opening-in-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/get-to-know-van-deventer-maas-indonesia-scholarship-opening-in-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Get to know Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia Scholarship opening in February"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UNAIR NEWS \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0Directorate of Student Affairs\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/\">Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)<\/a>\u00a0held an online dissemination of Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia scholarship (VDMI) on Saturday, January 21, 2023.\u00a0This event is open to all UNAIR students.<\/p>\n\n<p>The dissemination started with a speech by the person in charge (PIC)\u00a0of VDMI UNAIR Scholarship Herdina Indrijati MPsi Psychologist.\u00a0Herdina invited students who joined the dissemination to take advantage of this opportunity as best as possible.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cWe hope there will be more interest this year because I believe all of you from UNAIR still need support from VDMI,\u201d said the lecturer at UNAIR Faculty of Psychology.<\/p>\n\n<p>Furthermore, Dios Yarona Larosa as\u00a0communication and alumni relations officer,\u00a0presented the material from VDMI.\u00a0He explained the history of the Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia scholarship, which is a program of the Van Deventer-Maas Stichting (VDMS) Foundation owned by Coen Van Deventer and his wife Elisabeth (Betsy) Maas which was established in 1947.<\/p>\n\n<p>The foundation aims to improve education in Indonesia with the vision of developing independent young talents. In 2017, VDMI officially became a legal entity and, since then, has collaborated with 34 universities to provide scholarships to 1,000 students yearly.<\/p>\n\n<p>Not only educational aid assistance, Dios explained that the scholarship recipients could later develop their own abilities by participating in various activities organized by VDMI.\u00a0For example,\u00a0regional meetings,\u00a0citizenship workshops, training, writing clubs, newsletters, and social projects.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cAll of those are given to students for\u00a0free, so they can be applied in the world of work.\u00a0All of these VDMI activities are in accordance with the needs, so before we make a program, we have a\u00a0student monitoring system\u00a0to see what the real problems are with our\u00a0grantees, and then we will implement them in the form of activities,\u201d said Dios.<\/p>\n\n<p>The VDMI scholarship is open to undergraduate\/D4\/D3 level students who have at least received their first semester GPA and students with special needs.\u00a0Registration is open from February 10 to March 10, 2023, and the full registration flow can be viewed\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/vandeventermaas.or.id\/\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n<p>Author: Sela Septi Dwi Arista<\/p>\n\n<p>Editor: Nuri Hermawan<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>UNAIR NEWS \u2013\u00a0Directorate of Student Affairs\u00a0Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)\u00a0held an online dissemination of Van Deventer-Maas Indonesia scholarship (VDMI) on Saturday, January 21, 2023.\u00a0This event is open to all UNAIR students.
