UNAIR NEWS \u2013<\/strong>\u00a0As an international university,\u00a0Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)<\/a>\u00a0continues to develop partnerships with various foreign universities.\u00a0One form of cooperation is manifested in the\u00a0staff and\u00a0student outbound mobility<\/em>\u00a0program or student and staff exchange.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Recently,\u00a0UNAIR Faculty of Vocational Studies Traditional Medicine (Battra) Study Program <\/a>\u00a0sent delegates in a\u00a0staff and\u00a0student outbound<\/em>\u00a0program at one of the leading universities in Malaysia, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM)<\/a>, Selangor campus, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.\u00a0The delegates consisting of Battra administrative staff and students underwent the program on Tuesday-Friday, August 1-4, 2023.<\/p>\n\n

Study in UiTM laboratory<\/span><\/strong><\/h4><\/h4>\n\n

Jihan Aura, representative of the delegates, said there were various activities she carried out in\u00a0this\u00a0student outbound, including<\/em> visiting and learning activities in the Department of Pharmaceutical Life Sciences UiTM laboratory.\u00a0Students are invited to make medicinal ingredients preparation for courses and research purposes.<\/p>\n\n

“One of our activities was to visit various herbal research laboratories to make preparations for courses and research purposes. We were also invited to UiTM’s flagship laboratory, Laboratory Animal Facility and Management (LAFAM),” said Jihan on Monday, August 7, 2023.<\/p>\n\n

Then, several Battra students had the opportunity to observe herbal products made by UiTM students to gain new findings and insight.\u00a0They were also introduced to traditional health services taught at UiTM Malaysia, such as acupuncture, massage,<\/em>\u00a0homeopathy, and\u00a0pre & post-natal<\/em>.<\/em><\/p>\n\n

Feel the impact<\/span><\/strong><\/h4><\/h4>\n\n

Even though the staff and student outbound<\/em>\u00a0<\/em>program\u00a0was relatively short, the student and staff involved felt a significant positive impact.\u00a0In addition to gaining new knowledge and insights into the world of Traditional Medicine, they also built up an international network.\u00a0The delegation’s involvement in discussion and direct learning activities there also impacted increasing cross-knowledge and cultural understanding.<\/p>\n\n

“Overall, this\u00a0outbound student<\/em>\u00a0experience has helped me gain a new perspective on Traditional Medicine technology and services.\u00a0Then, get a new network, and increase understanding across science and culture, “explained Jihan.<\/p>\n\n

Representing the delegates, Jihan hopes that this\u00a0staff and student<\/em>\u00a0outbound <\/em>program can create a better academic climate for both parties.\u00a0It is also expected to provide additional educational\u00a0value<\/em>\u00a0and professional experience for Battra students.<\/p>\n\n

Apart from participating in a staff and student outbound program at UiTM, the delegates also made visits and\u00a0attended a workshop<\/em>\u00a0at Kong Zi Institute, Universiti Malaya.\u00a0UNAIR Battra Lecturer Maya Septriana SSi Apt MSi became a speaker in\u00a0the workshop<\/em>\u00a0on Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).\u00a0(*)<\/p>\n\n
