{"id":234786,"date":"2023-09-07T17:19:33","date_gmt":"2023-09-07T10:19:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/bridging-researchers-with-industry-unair-and-oic-comstech-visit-pt-biotis\/"},"modified":"2023-09-08T11:23:07","modified_gmt":"2023-09-08T04:23:07","slug":"bridging-researchers-with-industry-unair-and-oic-comstech-visit-pt-biotis","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/bridging-researchers-with-industry-unair-and-oic-comstech-visit-pt-biotis\/","title":{"rendered":"Bridging researchers with industry, UNAIR and OIC-COMSTECH visit PT Biotis"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p><strong>UNAIR NEWS<\/strong>\u00a0\u2013 Higher education institutions\u2019 roles are not only to produce the latest science research but also to bridge and connect researchers to the industry.\u00a0In line with this role,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\/\">Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR)<\/a>\u00a0and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) \u2013 COMSTECH held an International Training and Management Workshop on Managing Science and Technology Parks (STPs).<\/p>\n\n<p>The official\u00a0opening of the STPs international\u00a0workshop took place on Monday, September 4, 2023.<em>\u00a0<\/em>The final activity of the event was a visit of OIC-COMSTECH and UNAIR delegates to PT Biotis Pharmaceuticals Indonesia on Thursday, September 7, 2023.\u00a0For your information, PT Biotis has been UNAIR\u2019s partner during the development of Merah Putih vaccine.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>Bridge between researchers and industry<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>Almando Geraldi, SSi, PhD, a lecturer at the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) UNAIR, was also involved in the visit. He said that the OIC-COMSTECH delegates\u2019 visit to PT Biotis was an effort to bridge the world of research and industry.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201c<em>Alhamdulillah <\/em>we just finished a visit to PT Biotis with the OIC-COMSTECH delegates.\u00a0We got a lot of\u00a0insights into how to bridge researchers with the industrial world, in this case, concerning Merah Putih vaccine,\u201d said Almando.<\/p>\n\n<p>Through this visit, the delegates had the opportunity to see the vaccine production firsthand at PT Biotis. The delegates, said Almando, showed great enthusiasm.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThe delegates who attended were given direct experience in the production of highly sophisticated vaccines. They also said that they were very impressed with the courage of Indonesia, Biotis and UNAIR to develop halal vaccine products for the community,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1-1024x576.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-234709\" srcset=\"https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1-1024x576.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1-300x169.jpg 300w, https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1-768x432.jpg 768w, https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1-1536x864.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/unair.ac.id\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/BIOTIS-1.jpg 1600w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n<p>He hoped that this STPs forum can become a forum for fostering further collaboration with OIC-COMSTECH and other institutions. Furthermore, it is also expected to be a momentous forum to improve relations between researchers and industry.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cThrough this forum, we have shared knowledge about the establishment of STPs, so in the future, UNAIR is expected to collaborate with COMSTECH and other institutions to initiate the formation of STPs. Hopefully, in the future, we can link research results with industry so that it can provide more benefits to society,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>Future potentials<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>FX Sudirman, as Director of PT Biotis said that his party felt joy and proud because PT Biotis can host OIC-COMSTECH and UNAIR. According to him, COMSTECH, as part of OIC, is a potential vaccine product for Indonesia and UNAIR.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cWe are very proud to be able to\u00a0host\u00a0this meeting.\u00a0COMSTECH, as part of OIC is a market share of potential vaccine products.\u00a0As a part of the OIC, we can also become a production\u00a0hub\u00a0(network) for the OIC countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<p>Through this visit, FX Sudirman hopes there will be continued relations and collaboration between Indonesia and other OIC member countries. This way, the use of this product innovation made by Biotis and UNAIR can develop more massively and widely.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cI hope there will be follow-up activities after this visit, continuous relations with member countries, such as in bilateral relations, for example.
