The Vice-Dean of the <a href=\"https:\/\/fisip.unair.ac.id\/\">Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP)<\/a> Universitas Airlangga Irfan Wahyudi SSos MComm Ph.D. and the German House Director Mike Neuber concluded the event. The closing event took place on Friday, September 15, 2023, at the Sriwijaya Meeting Hall, ASEEC Tower, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, UNAIR.<\/p>\n\n<p>Participants from three countries, the academic community of <a href=\"http:\/\/unair.ac.id\/en\">Universitas Airlangga<\/a>, and photography enthusiasts from various regions attended the closing of the international event. Representing the university, Irfan Wahyudi delivered material on \u201cImages, Social Media, and The First Person to Show Everyone in the World: The Visual Chaotic of Integrity, Facts and Context\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>Visual integrity in social media<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>Irfan explained that social media strongly impacts human lives. Social media can be used as propaganda tools made by the government and social activists. Therefore, visual integrity is necessary to protect users from the spread of misinformation on social media.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cVisual integrity on social media refers to the authenticity, accuracy, and ethical use of images and videos shared on a platform. Therefore, maintaining visual integrity is crucial to prevent the dissemination of false information, fake news, and harmful content,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n<p>He further emphasized that maintaining visual integrity is a constant challenge in the digital era. It requires efforts from platform providers and users to combat false information and deceptive practices that can harm anyone.<\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color\"><strong>The role of photographer in the message<\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p>The material was followed by a closing speech from Mike Neuber. The Director of the <a href=\"https:\/\/wisma-jerman.or.id\/\">German House<\/a> and the representative of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ifi-id.com\/surabaya\/#\/\">Institut fran\u00e7ais d&#8217;Indon\u00e9sie (IFI)<\/a> expressed his gratitude to everyone who assisted throughout the event.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cFrom here, we can all learn about the importance of the photographer\u2019s role in conveying a message in a different approach,\u201d he said. The program provides an opportunity for participants from Indonesia, Germany, and France to collaborate and synergize in a common field of interest: photography.<\/p>\n\n<p>In his closing statement, Mike expressed his wish for the future continuation of the Global Colloquium.
