SEGTA is an annual inbound student program packed with classroom and community service activities to explore energy sources. On Monday<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW264888469 BCX0\">, March 4, 2024,<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW264888469 BCX0\"> 78 participants from 9 countries (Malaysia, Bangladesh, Nigeria, Tanzania, Gambia, Malawi, Sudan, Yemen, and Afghanistan) were invited to visit five laboratories owned by <a href=\"https:\/\/ftmm.unair.ac.id\/\">FTMM<\/a>.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW264888469 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW102288523 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW102288523 BCX0\">The five laboratories include the Research Center Nanotechnology Engineering, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW102288523 BCX0\">RCeNREE<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW102288523 BCX0\"> lab, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW102288523 BCX0\">Rasena<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW102288523 BCX0\"> lab, EV-OS (Electric Vehicle on Study) lab, and Kombo lab (UNAIR&#8217;s Robotics Community).<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW102288523 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading has-contrast-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-6a4f086b273502b4bc4b957c173c5499\"><strong><span class=\"TextRun SCXW70034210 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW70034210 BCX0\">Agenda<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW70034210 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\">Their first destination was the Research <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\">Center<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\"> Nanotechnology Engineering, a laboratory focusing on <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\">nanotechnology<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\">. One of the instruments <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\">showcased<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW122385080 BCX0\"> by FTMM was the SEM (scanning electron microscope), a tool capable of characterizing nanomaterials.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW122385080 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\">&#8220;This instrument is quite rare, with only a handful of countries having it in their possession. Besides examining the surface of nanomaterials, <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\">there&#8217;s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\"> also the EDS (energy dispersive spectroscopy) feature capable of <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW18515605 BCX0\">analyzing<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\"> chemical elements within the material,&#8221; explained <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW18515605 BCX0\">Farras<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW18515605 BCX0\">, the liaison officer of SEGTA.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW18515605 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">The participants were then taken to the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW60859314 BCX0\">RCeNREE<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\"> laboratory<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\"> to check out <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">instruments <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">including<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\"> a wind turbine simulator explaining how wind turbines <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">operate<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">, a solar tracker (a device for tracking light), <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW60859314 BCX0\">AirFeel<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\"> (a weather and air quality monitoring device using the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\">Internet<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW60859314 BCX0\"> of things (IoT) system created by FTMM&#8217;s academic community, and drones for 3D mapping.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW60859314 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\">The <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW35005088 BCX0\">Rasena<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\"> Laboratory sparked participants&#8217; curiosity as it featured an electric car with <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\">a<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\"> charging station. &#8220;The car displayed is the result of the Shell Eco-marathon competition held in 2023,&#8221; said <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\">Fisco<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\">, the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\">chairman<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\"> of <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW35005088 BCX0\">Rasena<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW35005088 BCX0\"> UNAIR.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW35005088 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-ID\" xml:lang=\"EN-ID\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\">The<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\"> participants were thrilled as they tried out the electric vehicles ESA (Electric Scooter <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\">Airlangga<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\">) and SAGA (Sport Ability in Green Advantage) <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\">developed<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW99927457 BCX0\"> by EV-OS UNAIR. ESA resembles a motor scooter but runs on electricity, while SAGA is an electric motorbike designed like a trail bike.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW99927457 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n\n<p>Finally, the visit was concluded at the Kombo laboratory. According to him, his experience was extremely engaging.
