UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 The Faculty of Advanced Technology and Multidiscipline (FTMM) at Universitas Airlangga<\/a> (UNAIR) recently held a ceremony to welcome and celebrate its students’ outstanding achievements in national competitions. These accomplishments include awards from the 37th National Student Scientific Week (PIMNAS) and the Energy-Efficient Car Competition (KMHE). The event took place on Wednesday (October 23, 2024), at the Candradimuka Auditorium, 9th floor of the Nano Building, MERR-C Campus, UNAIR.<\/p>\n\n

This ceremony was a form of appreciation for FTMM students who achieved exceptional success at these national events. Dean of FTMM, Prof. Dr. Dwi Setyawan, S.Si., M.Si., Apt., emphasized the critical role of collaboration in solving national problems during his opening remarks.<\/p>\n\n

“FTMM was founded on a multidisciplinary concept, meaning we must be ready to tackle national issues from various scientific fields. Collaboration is not only fostered through teaching but is also applied in faculty research and other activities, including competitions,” Prof. Setyawan explained.<\/p>\n\n

Significance of collaboration<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

FTMM\u2019s success at the 37th PIMNAS is largely attributed to cross-disciplinary collaboration among its students. An FTMM team, Reefstoration Bot, earned a gold medal for their poster and a bronze for their presentation in the PKM-GFT category. Additionally, the MOBIV team won a bronze medal for their presentation in the PKM-KC category.<\/p>\n

Cross-faculty collaboration also played a crucial role in this success. The AUVEST team, led by a student from the Faculty of Public Health (FKM), with a member from FTMM, secured gold medals for both their presentation and poster in the PKM-KC category. Additionally, the CORTISCAN team, led by a student from the Faculty of Science and Technology (FST) and including an FTMM student, won a bronze medal.<\/p>\n\n

“This shows that most of the winning teams included FTMM students. Only one winning team from UNAIR did not have an FTMM student involved, highlighting the importance of collaboration and the role of technology in solving current challenges,” said Prof. Setyawan.<\/p>\n\n

In addition to their success at PIMNAS, FTMM\u2019s EV-OS team won a special award for the most aesthetic car at the 2024 KMHE. This award reflects FTMM\u2019s ability to compete in various fields through innovation and interdisciplinary collaboration.<\/p>\n\n

Fostering future collaboration<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Prof. Setyawan expressed his hope to further enhance collaboration both within the faculty and across other faculties. “I hope study programs and student organizations from other faculties will continue to collaborate. For example, Indonesia\u2019s unique culture from the Faculty of Humanities can be packaged with technology for greater global recognition. Furthermore, the healthcare field cannot be separated from technology. Collaboration is essential in addressing increasingly complex problems,” he added. <\/p>\n\n

The recognition event served as a platform to celebrate the hard work and collaboration of students who have brought national recognition to UNAIR. With the slogan “Action Through Collaboration,” FTMM remains committed to promoting synergy across disciplines, in research, community service, and competitions.<\/p>\n\n
