UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Regine Wiranata, a distinguished alumna of the Faculty of Law (FH) Universitas Airlangga<\/a> (UNAIR), has built a thriving career as an international lawyer in Singapore. Her academic journey at UNAIR played a pivotal role in shaping her success. Wiranata chose UNAIR due to its reputation as one of Indonesia\u2019s leading law schools, known for producing highly competent graduates.<\/p>\n\n

During her studies, Wiranata actively participated in numerous competitions. She took part in the prestigious Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Competition in 2018 and 2019, where her team earned an impressive global ranking of 13th. \u201cI am deeply grateful for these invaluable experiences, which became the foundation of my career as a lawyer,\u201d she remarked.<\/p>\n\n

Career journey<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

Regine Wiranata\u2019s path to becoming a lawyer was far from smooth. Her graduation coincided with the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, making it challenging to find a job. Despite this, her perseverance paid off when she secured a role as a research assistant to Professor Joseph Tanega, a British expert in law and finance.<\/p>\n

\u201cAlthough finding a job was initially difficult, my experience as a research assistant taught me valuable lessons. In 2021, I started working as a trainee associate at Widyawan & Partners, a law firm affiliated with Linklaters LLP,\u201d she shared.<\/p>\n\n

By 2023, she was promoted to associate at Widyawan & Partners, specializing in energy and infrastructure law in the firm\u2019s Singapore office. \u201cThanks to the knowledge and expertise I gained at FH UNAIR, I\u2019ve had the opportunity to work with international clients on complex and innovative renewable energy transactions across multiple countries,\u201d she explained.<\/p>\n\n

Overcoming challenges<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

In the early stages of her career, Wiranata struggled to find her footing as a lawyer and even considered pursuing a different profession. However, with the encouragement of her colleagues, she persevered and began to excel in handling legal matters, particularly those related to renewable energy law.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cInitially, I made frequent mistakes, but over time, I learned and grew, which made my work more enjoyable. The key is to never stop asking questions and learning. Stay hungry for knowledge, and you\u2019ll be able to achieve the dreams you aspire to,\u201d she concluded.<\/p>\n\n
