UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Courses that lead to Intellectual Property Rights (HaKI) certification are becoming an integral part of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) Universitas Airlangga<\/a> (UNAIR). This time, Undergraduate and Master\u2019s Management students were challenged to create intellectual works in the form of games and songs, which were later registered for HaKI certification.<\/p>\n\n

In the Management KPT course, master\u2019s students were tasked with developing educational games related to their coursework. The challenge was met with great enthusiasm, resulting in nine students successfully obtaining HaKI certificates for their game creations.<\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, in the Introduction to Management course for undergraduate students, participants were challenged to compose management-themed songs. As a result, 17 student-created songs earned HaKI certification. In total, 27 HaKI certificates were awarded for various intellectual works by students in the Management Study Program, including brochures, songs, video recordings, computer programs, video games, and short films.<\/p>\n\n

Encouraging innovation<\/h5><\/h5>\n\n

Prof. Dr. Gancar C. Premananto, the course instructor, emphasized the importance of fostering student creativity and applying their knowledge innovatively. \u201cTraditional teaching methods alone are no longer sufficient for Gen Z students; education must incorporate entertainment elements, creating an \u2018edutainment\u2019 approach,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n

He noted that gaming is an enjoyable activity for all age groups, making it a valuable tool for education. Integrating games into learning enhances student engagement and interest.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cIn addition to enriching the learning experience, this approach allows students to take pride in their creative works,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n

He further explained that innovative teaching methods do not require an entirely new curriculum but rather involve enhancing the existing curriculum by incorporating Outcome-Based Education (OBE) and Course Learning Outcomes (CPMK).<\/p>\n\n

Valuable experience for students<\/h5><\/h5>\n\n

Gatum Ananta Putra, a student from the Master of Science in Management (MSM) program at FEB UNAIR and a HaKI certificate recipient, expressed his appreciation for this innovative learning method. \u201cHere, students are continuously encouraged to create through innovative teaching approaches led by our lecturers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Similarly, Dyah Permata Aulyah shared that this learning experience was invaluable. \u201cI learned so much\u2014not just theory but also hands-on experience in developing games as a learning tool. I never imagined that our assignments would turn into such a remarkable learning journey.\u201d<\/p>\n\n

Due to his groundbreaking teaching methods, Prof. Premananto was honored as \u201cThe Most Innovative Lecturer\u201d at the 2024 FEB Awards. Looking ahead, he hopes students will become more engaged in the learning process and recognize the importance of protecting their intellectual property.<\/p>\n\n
