Unfortunately, the first-line OAT therapy that is currently recommended in Indonesia has some limitations, namely requiring a long duration of treatment and starting to find cases of resistance in its use. <\/p>\n\n<p>Drug Delivery System is one of the solutions to this problem, as a formulation or system that is able to mediate the delivery of therapeutic substances in the body to increase therapeutic effects, reduce drug side effects, increase bioavailability and improve patient compliance. <\/p>\n\n<p>Therefore, in this review we will review the polysaccharide polymers used as microsphere delivery systems as anti-tubeculosis treatment. The review of this article was made using the library research method obtained through Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, NCBI, Elsevier with the keywords &#8220;Drug Delivery Pulmonary&#8221;, &#8220;Polysaccharide Polymer for Pulmonary&#8221;, &#8220;Chitosan Polymer&#8221;, &#8220;Sodium Alginate Polymer&#8221;, &#8220;Carrageenan Polymer&#8221;, &#8220;Pectin Polymer&#8221;, &#8220;Antibiotics Chitosan-Na.Alginate Pulmonary&#8221;, &#8220;Antibiotics Chitosan-Pectin Antibiotics&#8221;, &#8220;Antibiotics Na.Alginate \u2013 Pulmonary Carrageenan&#8221;, &#8220;Antibiotics for Tuberculosis&#8221;, &#8220;Drug Delivery for AntiTuberculosis&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n<p>The use of polymer combination is an option in order to complement the shortcomings of each of the other polymers, then it can produce controlled-release drugs, which have the advantage of reducing the frequency of dosing, reducing drug side effects, increasing the level of patient compliance which can certainly be a solution for the development of anti-tuberculosis drugs.<\/p>\n\n<p>Author: Dewi Melani Hariyadi<br\/>Details can be accessed on the link below:<br\/><a href=\"https:\/\/ejchem.journals.ekb.eg\/article_356627_6eae377f4db62f56664b7bb92210af71.pdf\">https:\/\/ejchem.journals.ekb.eg\/article_356627_6eae377f4db62f56664b7bb92210af71.pdf<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Tuberculosis is still a health problem both in Indonesia and in the world and is one of the leading causes of death.
