UNAIR NEWS<\/strong> \u2013 Universitas Airlangga<\/a> (UNAIR) has once again deployed its students through the 7th<\/sup> Community Service Program \u2013 Learning with Community. In its latest deployment, Madiun Regency was selected as one of the program locations. A total of 390 students from various academic disciplines took part in the send-off ceremony held at Pendopo Ronggo Djoemeno on Tuesday, January 6, 2026.<\/p>\n\n

The KKN-BBK participants will carry out a series of community service activities grounded in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through Monday, February 2, 2026. The students are assigned across four sub-districts and 37 villages designated as KKN-BBK locations throughout Madiun Regency.<\/p>\n\n

Focus on SDGs<\/strong><\/h5>\n\n

The event was attended by a representative from UNAIR\u2019s Institute for Sustainable Community Service (LPMB), Dr. Astri Dewayani, PhD. In her remarks, she highlighted the importance of sustainable and long-term community engagement. \u201cStudents should not simply arrive, complete activities, and leave. Their programs must create benefits that communities can sustain, while also generating real impact in line with the SDGs,\u201d Dewayani said.<\/p>\n\n

This year\u2019s KKN-BBK program prioritizes six SDG targets: SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 6 (Clean Water and Sanitation), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities). Dewayani noted that these priorities align with UNAIR\u2019s achievement of ranking first globally for SDG 6, which focuses on sanitation.<\/p>\n\n

She added that the outputs of this KKN-BBK program will not be limited to articles and videos, but will also include an action-oriented book documenting student initiatives. In the future, villages hosting KKN-BBK activities may also be developed into long-term partner villages as part of continued community service efforts by UNAIR faculty.<\/p>\n\n

Dewayani also urged students to deliver meaningful and practical contributions. \u201cStudents do not only learn theory on campus; they must also engage directly with communities and apply their knowledge in real-world settings,\u201d she added. <\/p>\n\n

Meanwhile, Madiun Regent H. Hari Wuryanto, SH, MAk, welcomed the KKN-BBK program and expressed appreciation for Universitas Airlangga\u2019s continued collaboration with the Madiun Regency Government. He described the program as a tangible expression of the Tridharma of Higher Education.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe hope students will not only implement their programs, but also offer concrete recommendations for Madiun Regency. Over the course of one month, study the villages carefully so you can provide insights toward building self-reliant communities,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

Wuryanto also emphasized that Madiun Regency\u2019s development vision of bersahaja (clean, healthy, and prosperous) aligns closely with the spirit of UNAIR\u2019s KKN-BBK program, particularly in the areas of public health and sanitation. He expressed hope that students\u2019 recommendations could be incorporated into regional development plans.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cWe strongly value the ideas and perspectives contributed by students, as they can help local government deliver better services to the community,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n\n

In closing, Wuryanto officially welcomed the arrival of UNAIR\u2019s KKN-BBK 7 participants and reiterated his hope that all students would complete their assignments successfully as a form of community service and empowerment. \u201cBest wishes and continued success to everyone.\u201d <\/p>\n\n
