UNAIR NEWS <\/b>\u2013 The Directorate of Airlangga Global Engagement (AGE) Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR<\/a>), through the Taiwan Center, held an info session titled Study in Taiwan on Thursday (March 5, 2026). The event took place at Majapahit Hall, 5th Floor, ASEEC Tower, Dharmawangsa-B Campus, and featured Sylvia Huang, Director of International Recruitment and Partnership Development, Academic Exchange Section, Chaoyang University of Technology (CYUT), Taiwan.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Through the info session, Huang introduced various study opportunities in Taiwan to UNAIR students. She explained several academic opportunities that students can gain through studying in Taiwan, ranging from strengthening academic competence to expanding international networks.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Reasons to study in Taiwan<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

In her presentation, Huang explained why more international students are choosing Taiwan as their study destination. According to her, Taiwan has become an alternative education destination offering various programs and scholarship opportunities.<\/p>\n\n

\u201cTaiwan offers many scholarships for international students, including scholarships from the Taiwan government and from universities,\u201d Sylvia said. She also added that the cost of living in Taiwan is relatively affordable compared to several other study destinations.<\/span><\/p>\n

Many universities in Taiwan provide double degree programs for international students. Through this scheme, Huang explained, students can obtain degrees from both their home university and partner universities in Taiwan. \u201cStudents have the opportunity to gain international academic experience while staying connected with their home university,\u201d she said.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Study programs and academic opportunities at CYUT<\/b><\/h5>\n\n

On that occasion, Huang also introduced several leading study programs at CYUT. She explained that the university offers various technology-based fields such as Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, and Information Systems, which are relevant to current industrial developments. These programs equip students with competencies needed in the global workforce.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

However, she emphasized that many international students also choose social science fields. Study programs such as Management, Business, and Marketing are popular among students who want to develop skills in management and entrepreneurship. \u201cStudents from different academic backgrounds can find study programs that match their interests, whether in technology, business, or other fields,\u201d she explained.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

Through the Study in Taiwan session, UNAIR students gained broader insight into international study opportunities, especially in Taiwan. The activities are expected to encourage students to explore study opportunities and expand their academic networks at the international level.<\/p>\n\n
