The<br\/>activity took place from July 27\u201331, 2026, as<br\/>part of the student outbound program under<br\/>the KKN Penyertaraan program through the<br\/>Universit\u00e0 degli Studi di Verona.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The activity focused on learning about robot-<br\/>assisted nephrectomy using the Da Vinci Xi<br\/>robotic system. Through the program,<br\/>Mahlevi gained experience observing the<br\/>application of minimally invasive surgery in<br\/>urological procedures, including kidney<br\/>transplantation.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-d61e9d550ea6d750437522993d00177d\">Exploring robotic surgical technology<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mahlevi explained that his interest in urology<br\/>was one of the reasons he chose to deepen<br\/>his knowledge of robotic surgical technology. He noted that minimally invasive approaches<br\/>have the potential to support faster patient<br\/>recovery.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cAs technology continues to advance,&#13;\nsurgical procedures are increasingly moving&#13;\ntoward safer and minimally invasive&#13;\napproaches. These approaches benefit both&#13;\npatients and doctors by reducing surgical&#13;\ntrauma and accelerating the recovery&#13;\nprocess,\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During the activity, Mahlevi joined patient<br\/>visits to observe assessments and<br\/>postoperative patient management, while<br\/>also learning about robot-assisted surgery in<br\/>kidney transplantation. He also had the<br\/>opportunity to study laparoscopic mapping,<br\/>the robot-assisted nephrectomy procedure,<br\/>and the use of indocyanine green to assess<br\/>renal tissue perfusion after transplantation.<\/p>\n\n<h5 class=\"wp-block-heading has-black-color has-text-color has-link-color wp-elements-e3b051a959aa18dca9fce8b0620c964d\">Learning from Italy\u2019s clinical environment<\/h5>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Mahlevi, one of the key&#13;\ndifferences he observed while studying&#13;\nurology in Italy was the broader use of robotic&#13;\ntechnology. This provided healthcare&#13;\nprofessionals with more opportunities to&#13;\ndevelop their competencies in modern&#13;\nsurgical technology.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He hopes access to modern surgical&#13;\ntechnology in Indonesia can continue to be&#13;\ndeveloped so that its benefits can reach more&#13;\npatients.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cI hope that the field of minimally invasive surgery in Indonesia can be further developed, both through enhancing the competence of medical personnel and expanding access to modern surgical technology,\u201d he stated.<\/p>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In closing, Mahlevi encouraged students who&#13;\nwish to join similar programs not to limit their&#13;\nlearning to established systems. \u201cKeep your&#13;\ncuriosity alive, be willing to ask questions,&#13;\nengage in discussions, and seek new&#13;\nexperiences.
