UNAIR NEWS – Her interest to know more on clinical administrative patient safety incidents has inspired Aldiar Lailifah Kurniavip to write a thesis on that topic. Being appointed as the best bachelor’s degree graduate of Faculty of Public Health (FKM) Universitas Airlangga,  in graduation of September 2017, did not make Aldiar satisfied. There are still many things she wants to achieve.

The woman from Sidoarjo was interested in writing a thesis titled “Affecting Factors of Clinical Administrative Type Patient Safety Incidents in Inpatient Installation of RSU Haji Surabaya”. Aldiar focused on the patient safety which becomes the main concern of healthcare service.

“The healthcare service in hospital is really complex, so if there are no multisystem collaborations, there will be more mistakes endangering the patient safety,” said the graduate with 3.86 GPA.

Aldiar admitted from the start of her thesis writing, she had lots of obstacles such as sensitive topics and the data is confidential.

”My journey to write the thesis was not easy. I had to move my research location for three times, but I didn’t stop there because I am interested in the patient safety incidents,” said the alumni of SMAN 1 Sidoarjo.

She believed that her research will be useful for the hospital. During the data collection process, she had to learn to manage the time between the data collection and processing and other learning things.

”Moreover, the representative of RSU Haji Surabaya said that my research useful for the management in evaluating and improving factors related to clinical administrative type patient safety incidents in RSU Haji Surabaya,” stated the former UNAIR FKM BEM member. (*)
