UNAIR NEWS – To celebrate 10th Anniversary of Faculty of Fisheries and Marine, Universitas Airlangga, the FPK academics and students work together to hold some events. The celebration was marked with a morning exercise and fun walk on July 30.
“FPK is 10 years old on July 25, 2018, to celebrate the happy moment we held morning exercise and a fun walk,” said Hutama Satriana Farizky, Aquaculture FPK student class 2015.
The program was started at 06.00-10.00 in front of UNAIR Management Office Building Campus C. The event was also attended by the Dean of FPK Prof. Dr. Mirni Lamid, drh., MP and UNAIR Rector Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE., MT, Ak., CMA. Hutama Satriana of FPK Anniversary committee, said that fun walk and morning exercise were chosen considering the importance of implementing a healthy lifestyle to develop fisheries in the future.
“Fun walk and morning exercise are very appropriate because they involve general public,” he said.
Meanwhile, in front of the participants Prof. Mohammad Nasih stated that FPK has worked hard to improve fisheries programs of Universitas Airlangga. From being part of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine UNAIR, it decided to have its own faculty in 2008.
Prof. Nasih also said that although the faculty is quite young, in a decade FPK had succeeded in obtaining A accreditation and transformed into a faculty that was globally competitive. It is in accordance with the established vision. The Rector also invited people to consume fish caught by Indonesian fishermen and its various processed products.
“It’s important to maintain Indonesia’s marine sovereignty by consuming fish which is high in protein and rich in vitamins,” said Prof. Nasih.
