UNAIR NEWS – Various steps to create a world class university continue to be carried out by Universitas Airlangga community, ranging from improving the quality of education, research and innovation, community service and by increasing the role of alumni. For the latter, various efforts are continuously made by the administrators of Universitas Airlangga Alumni Association (IKA UA) to gather ideas, support and scientific contributions for all alumni with significant roles in development.
This time, IKA UA in DKI Jakarta held Halal bi Halal at Soehana Hall, The Energy Building, Jakarta on Sunday, August 5. The event featured various art, music performances from UNAIR Choir alumni, and there was a talk show, attended by hundreds of UNAIR alumni, from alumni with strategic positions in the capital city to alumni who have just finished their studies or continue their studies in Jakarta.
In his remarks, Imam Fathurrahman as the head of the committee said that the meeting was from a spirit of friendship. Although, it was past the month of Shawwal month, the gathering became a moment to strengthen friendship.
“This is a spirit of friendship. Alumni in colonial generation to the millennial generation have attended,” he explained.

Meanwhile, Jakarta Region IKA UA Chairman Dwi Wahyudi said that many UNAIR alumni have performed in various strategic positions in Indonesia. They need to improve their performance publication.
“Especially for the efforts towards Top 500 world universities. We as alumni must make real efforts and contributions to improve the rank of our alma mater, “he said. “It’s no longer a plan and concept but a real action,” he added.
For him, it is not easy. However, according to alumnus who are now the Director of Indonesia Exim Bank, efforts to encourage the quality of alma mater are joint responsibility. Moreover, the quality improvement of the alma mater can be one of the efforts to improve the competitiveness and independence of the nation.
“Indeed, it is tiring and difficult. But do not hesitate to contribute in any forms, ideas and other forms, “he concluded.
