UNAIR NEWS – From Rector Regulation Number 36 of 2017, Universitas Airlangga continues to make efforts to run Doctor by Research program. In Article 2 of the regulation, the Research-Based Doctoral Education Program is a structured education consisting of advanced ability, specificity and independent research education. It follows the Credit System measured with semester credit units (SKS); and its activities are carried out through periodic seminars, independent learning, scientific communication, research, scientific writing, and community service.

The implementation of Doctoral Program education is carried out in accordance with the university academic calendar set by the Rector. The academic calendar as referred to in paragraph (2) consists of odd semester and even semester.

The aim of the program is to increase UNAIR’s international publications by running a Doctor by Research program that has been run by several universities in the world. The program focused more on the role of students to publish several researches internationally.

In line with UNAIR’s mission to reach Top 500 World Class University , some postgraduate programs, especially doctoral program (S3) are expected to contribute in running this Doctor by Research program.

The Doctor by Research program has been running in UNAIR and it is fully supported by the Rector of Universitas Airlangga by issuing Rector Regulation Number 36 of 2017 concerning the details of Doctor by Research program.

There are 2 UNAIR S3 Programs that have carried out Doctor by Research program, Dental Medicine Doctoral Program, and Nursing Doctoral Program which started this year since the Postgraduate Student Inauguration on August 8, 2018. Pharmacy Doctoral Program is also ready to run this Doctor by Research program.
