UNAIR NEWS – Efforts to improve the quality of graduates continue to be made by every study program at Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR). One of them is the Hospitality Management program.

As an innovation, Beauty Class and Handsome Class were held to achieve better quality of graduates. Interviewed by UNAIRNEWS on Monday, April 9, Dian Yulie Reindrawati as the coordinator of the study program (Prodi) said that the innovation is a reflection of the study program’s principle of Hospitality Management UNAIR.

“From year to year, we should be better. The students must have more benefits, skills, and competencies. That’s so they can be absorbed in the professional world. One that we prepare is how they look good, through a course called Prime Appearance. Here, they are taught make-up to do business, apply for work, interviews, even internships, ” she explained.

According to Dian, a briefing is not enough. Giving solution is important. Through these two classes, solutions are given.

“The solution is through a training in the Handsome Class. Appear smartly by washing face with face soap, hair combed neatly, pomade. People see it positively when we are neat, then they themselves will see them positively, “said Dian.

Adaptation, Dian continued, happened to the students. They were happy to gain more knowledge for internships and applying for jobs.

“Next year, they will do internship. They will not have difficulty to get make up for internship. Of course, wearing a veil without tidiness will create a different impression in the work acceptance, ” she explained.

In this year’s activities, the instructor also came from the students as well. The students were expected to learn the skills of the instructors well.

“I just want them to be smarter, more skillful ,” she concluded. (*)
