UNAIR NEWS – National Essay Competition (LENSA) is an annual event held by the Student Community of (KM) PSDKU (Study Center Outside Main College) Airlangga University in Banyuwangi. This time is the third for PSDKU to hold an national essay writing competition event. The first was held in 2016 with the theme “2nd LENSA 2016”.
The theme raised in this event is “The Role of Young Generation in Developing Culturally Local Wisdom, Toward Gold Indonesia 2045” with sub-themes including Education, Health, Economy, Social and Culture, Technology, and Tourism.
Drh. Ragil Angga Prastiya, M.Si., the coach of PSDKU Student community of Universitas Airlangga in Banyuwangi explained, this activity is followed by students from various regions in Indonesia, especially those who like to compose an innovation and put in scientific essay to support government program in reaching Gold Indonesia 2045.
The series of BIG LENSA took place from mid-June 2017 to September 23, 2017. It started with the registration, essay submission, paper selection, announcement of the top ten, and the announcement of the winner.
The selected ten teams had the opportunity to go the grand final stage, which was to make a presentation and fieldtrip to Tabuhan Island in Banyuwangi.
“This kind of event is very interesting, because it can be as a place to explore the creative ideas for students in authorship,” said Ragil.
