UNAIR NEWS – Operation of Veterinary Teaching Hospital of Universitas Airlangga Education (UNAIR) was inaugurated on Tuesday afternoon (26/4). The ribbon was cut by Vice Rector IV UNAIR Junaidi Khotib, S.Si., M.Kes., Ph.D., Apt., in front of the hospital entrance. It marked the opening of hospital operations which was planned four years ago.
Other leaders of UNAIR accompanying Vice Rector IV in the procession were the Dean of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) Prof. Dr. Pudji Srianto, drh., M.Kes .; Director of Veterinary Teaching Hospital UNAIR Prof. Dr. Kusnoto Supranianondo, drh., MS .; and the Dean of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Affairs. Mirni Lamid, drh., MP.
In addition to ribbon cutting, in the opening there was an MoU ( Memorandum of Understanding ) signing session between the UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Indonesian Veterinary Hospital Association (ARSHI) on the continuity of cooperation education program.
Prof. Dr. Kusnoto revealed that the UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital already has a new building, right in front of the old Veterinary Hospital, next to the building of FKH UNAIR. It was a four-floor building.
“Compared to the former, the facilities are much better. Other facilities will be completed, “he said. “The existence of Veterinary Teaching Hospital UNAIR was the only one in East Java. UB (Universitas Brawijaya, ed) is also building one, “he added.
The facilities at UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital, such as waiting room, exam room, physician, drug, operation, preparation, radiology, hospitalization, isolation, medical record, laboratory and diagnostic.
In addition, there is also complete veterinary medicine equipment facilities such as otoscope, ultrasound, x-ray manual, x-ray computerized radiology, blood chemistry, hematology analyzer, minor surgical instrument, major surgical instrument, electrocardiography, anesthesia machine installation, patient monitor, electro surgery, syringe pump, infuse pump, Oxy Pulsus Metre, Heat Streilization , and Portable Suction Pump.
UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital supported 15 professional veterinarians, 2 paramedics, and 3 administrative personnel. It operates for six days, Monday-Thursday from 08.30-13.00 and 14.00-16.30; Friday from 08:30 to 11:00 and 14:00 to 16:00 o’clock; and Saturday from 09:00 to 12:00.
Meanwhile, Prof. Dr. Pudji in his speech said that UNAIR Veterinary Teaching Hospital is expected to support FKH as well as become the center of veterinary science development. In addition, with the official operation of hospital, UNAIR adds a long list of teaching hospitals after Dental and Oral Hospital and Universitas Airlangga Hospital. (*)
