UNAIR NEWS – Understanding the importance of relationship with other institutions, Department of External Affairs, Student Executive Board (BEM) Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), Universitas Airlangga has held Econo Free Day(EFD). The event held on Sunday, March 3, was aimed to strengthen FEB students and alumni’s ties.

EFD was held in Java Clinic, Car Free Day Darmo (Taman Bungkul). The theme of EFD was “EFD Road To Launching IKAFE Magazine”. The Dean of FEB Prof. Dr. Dian Agustia, SE., M.Si., Ak was also present with students and alumni.

“FEB will not improve without synergy and cooperation of its components. Everything done together will be easier. Hopefully there will be more FEB students and alumni participating,” said Prof Dian.

This EFD was not about morning exercise and talked about FEB, but there was also coffee and live music. It was a great morning for all academicians of FEB.

New Department

Department of External Affairs is a new department in BEM FEB. Functionally, the function of this department was carried out by Department of Communication and Information. But this department is needed to improve relations with institutions, public or private and also with the students.

“It is a real effort we made establishing a new department as there is a sense of urgency to improve the external affairs intensity of BEM FEB UNAIR,” said Dimas Bagas Herlambang, Vice President of BEM FEB in 2017.

External Affairs department was held to connect students with alumni and other institutions, started by optimizing relations with IKAFE (Alumni Association of FEB).   The new department is trying to map assistance needed by the students organization in FEB. It is expected to establish partnerships and improve the branding.

“Pursuant to the globalization principle and constant exposure of information and external influence, there are more possibilities for development,” he added.

Other programs of this department is Campus Visit and Internal Visit, Sponsorship Strategy, Alumni Seminar, Book of Relation, Greeting Card, and Visit Companion. EFD will hold similar event on March 26 along with the launching of IKAFE Magazine. (*)
