Overseas References Motivates Muh Dimas Aditya, Best Master Graduate FKG UNAIR

UNAIR NEWS – Study trips often feature memorable experiences. Muhammad Dimas Aditya Ari felt it after he followed a program abroad. He was impressed with his experience in studying more specific science and exploring more complex thesis research.

He attended the Cooperative Laboratory Study Program (COLABS Program) program at Faculty of Dentistry, Tohoku University, March-April 2017. There he conducted a collaborative research and spent much time in the laboratory.

“This is an activity I have never done in Indonesia. This experience encouraged me to go forward, “recalled Dimas, achieving 3.87 GPA.

In his final S2 assignment, the man born in Lumajang October 15, 1992 was researching the engineering biomaterials of bone tissue and stem cells. According to him, until now there are still many cases of bone damage, then the need for bone substitute material is still high.

“By creating a biomaterial scaffold that has the appropriate properties of bone tissue and stem cells is expected to accelerate the process of healing and formation of new bone,” he said.

He realized the course of his research was long and winding. Many things cannot be predicted during the study. Of course it requires a lot of patience.

“Like waiting for research reagents long enough, for several times have to repeat the procedure because the cells which was used died, and many more stories from study trip,” said the man who had joined the acceleration program at junior and senior high school.

Dimas believed his desire to be a dentist cannot be separated from the support of the family, that being a dentist is a proud achievement. (*)
