People Must be Aware of the Importance of Paying Taxes

UNAIR NEWS – Entering the 72nd anniversary of Indonesian Independence,  Bisma Brata Atmaja, hoped that the public will be more aware of the importance of paying taxes.

“Tax obedience affects facilities and public services to be more accessible and fast handling,” said the student of the Faculty of Economics and Business.

According to him, one of the factors that make people lazy to pay taxes is the low level of public confidence to the state apparatus. One of them is caused by officials who use tax only for the interests of certain groups.

For Bisma, the task that the state must immediately settle is to make one-way laws and regulations, not overlapping and even contradictory. There are still many challenges. Like the existence of certain elements who manipulate the rules of the state legislation in order to reap personal and group benefits.

In addition to the matter of tax payments, one form of independence is free from hoaxes . Wrong information can bring considerable impact, such as divisions between tribes, nations, religions, and among groups.

Bisma who is also the Head of the Communication Forum of Student Activity Unit of Universitas Airlangga said that the improvement of reading interest is one way to avoid being deceived by news. Not only reading scientific articles, but also general insights about events in the neighborhood.

“Actually the most important thing to avoid hoax is by improving reading interest,” he told UNAIR News .

In addition to increasing interest in reading, Bisma also encouraged the public to be aware of provocative information content.

“Check out sources that are not from credible mass media,  find the truths, check photos with Google image search . Because often photos used for provocation are old photos that are misused with a twisted title, “he said.

“People will not be easy to be deceived by hoaxes, and harmony and tolerance in social life will be better,” he added.

Although Indonesia faces many problems, this student still hoped that Indonesia will continue to grow into an increasingly victorious and prosperous society.
