UNAIR NEWS – Universitas Airlangga’s Information and Public Relations team made a visit to Institute of Technology Bandung’s Public Relations Office on Friday, September 29. The visit was made to improve the quality of performance in providing services to all UNAIR stakeholders.
ITB was chosen as a partner because according to Head of PIH Suko Widodo, this campus has been well established in terms of public relations and protocol. ITB has performed to national and international standards.
“If you want to learn protocol and public relations, come to ITB. Its protocol and public relations are in harmony with ITB as the oldest in Indonesia. This campus gave birth to the president. I think they are well established in terms of public relations and protocol, “said Suko.
UNAIR PIH team was welcomed by the Head of Protocol and Documentation Sub Directorate Drs. Budi Mulyadi at ITB Rapim Office located at ITB Management Office. From Budi’s explanation, there were many lessons learned by the UNAIR PIH team, from the attendance system that raises rewards and punishment, recruitment of protocol team and MC, improvement of HR performance, to system and series of events in ITB Dies Natalis.
Budi was pleased for the visit. Although it was for a short time, he admitted this visit will improve a relationship between public relations of UNAIR and ITB.
“From this visit we can share experiences as well as knowledge, so we work together to strengthen public relations and protocols under the Minister of Research and Technology,” said Budi.
Budi admitted, to improve the performance of Human Resource of Public Relations in ITB, the team always makes innovations. Innovations come in various forms. First, evaluate after any activities. Second, look at public relations and protocols at other universities.
“From the evaluation we can assess, which needs to be developed and improved. This is for efficiency in terms of time, funds, energy, and others. So all events can run well and most importantly, all stakeholders are happy, “said Budi.
Budi denied that the Public Relations of ITB is better than the UNAIR Public Relations. He explained that all universities should work together to improve public relations and protocols in each campus.
“None is best or anything. We are both improving our performance for the Minister of Research and Technology and the state, “said Budi who play his role as beadle sometimes. (*)
