UNAIR NEWS – In the second semester of 2016, the Head of Information and Public Relations Center (PIH) UNAIR Drs. Suko Widodo, M.Si, held a consolidation meeting to evaluate all divisions’ performances. The meeting was to improve quality of the performance in supporting  university’s target and publishing official university information to public. The meeting was held in PIH office room Amerta 204, on Monday, July 25.

In the meeting, Suko explained that PIH wanted to improve and strengthen its internal relations with all academicians as they are their partners for information as well as the organizers of all activities, achievements or researches.

“PIH needs all cooperation with the internal UNAIR as partners to produce information. PIH will publish the information. We hope the cooperation of the faculties to supply information, as it is our job to publish it,” said Suko.

Since early 2016, PIH has made basic changes in the production and publishing of the information. Regarding news production, PIH supported by Directorate of Information System has had its own official page which publishes up-to-date news of events, achievements or researches of academicians on news.unair.ac.id.

“UNAIR News (news.unair.ac.id) is one and only university portal which is most active in Indonesia,” said Suko.

Regarding monitoring media, positive news on UNAIR have been covered by mass media. “According to the evaluation, it is extraordinary. There used to be only five news max in a month, but now there is always news from UNAIR every day,” he said.

Suko added that in the future PIH and the stake holders must utilize digital technology development more. “Digital technology utilization is the main choice of circulating information,” said the lecturer of Communication Department, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (FISIP) UNAIR. (*)
