UNAIR NEWS – Center for Innovation and Certification Publication (PIPS) Universitas Airlangga continues to improves its programs to boost UNAIR towards Top 500 World Universities. One of the programs is by strengthening its E-Learning program.
As the institution responsible for that aspect, PIPS keeps trying to optimize the role of E-Learning to be one of alternative learning in UNAIR environment.
Interviewed in her office, Head of PIPS UNAIR Yuni Sari Amalia, SS, MA, stated that E-learning initially was not the focus in the implementation of the teaching process. Now, continued Yuni, her division is preparing Rector’s Decree for the legality of E-Learning sustainability at UNAIR.
“We do this to show that E-learning is equal with face-to-face teaching. Therefore, we continue to make efforts to comply with the existing standards, ” she explained.
Furthermore, Yuni also explained that E-Learning program must be supported with various things, such as the interaction between lecturers and students. The mutual relationship between lecturers and students, for Yuni, can be an effort to cultivate critical thinking in learning through E-Learning.
“The other activity to support E-Learning is evaluation by giving tasks that support the learning through digital system,” Yuni added.
Thanks to the efforts and supports of PIPS, the E-Learning program is slowly, but surely, progressing. In fact, PIPS does not hesitate to give prizes to active users of E-Learning. According to Yuni, it is an effort to give more attention to E-Learning users.
“I hope E-Learning can be popular and become a necessity for lecturers and students themselves,” she said.
In the end, Yuni asserted that the implementation of E-Learning program also has obstacles. The legality is still in the process of being acknowledged and its equal value to a face-to-face lecture as the initial step has been completed.
“Thank God, now we have managed the legality, even Dikti is going to launched this program,” she said.
PIPS continues to make various breakthroughs to support UNAIR’s efforts to internationalization. Not only to maximize E-Learning, PIPS also focuses on developing AA (Applied Approach) and Pekerti (Instructional Basic Skills Improvement Program) for lecturers, MOOC (Massive Open Online Course) , and a strategic lecturers’ internship program from various campuses in Indonesia.
