UNAIR NEWS – Rector of Universitas Airlangga Prof. Dr. Moh. Nasih, SE., MT., Ak., CMA., in the inauguration speech said that lecturers today should be more creative. Creativity can be shown in providing education and teaching students and creative in doing research as part of Higher Education Tri Darma.
“In teaching, lecturers should not use the 70’s method to educate current students. Our competence is needed to improve the nation’s competitiveness. So, we must continue to improve the creativity, “said Rector UNAIR in the inauguration held Saturday on September 16.
The statement was made as one of the professors inaugurated, Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco in his scientific oration mentioned that the college has a big responsibility in produce the creative class. Through this Creative class, a country will have competitiveness.
” Creative class will have great role in our lives. Applications which have made human life simpler emerge. Starting from buying goods, food, and other necessities. In the future there will be many artificial things. For that, a lecturer should be able to produce human resources that have high creativity, “said Nasih.
Therefore, the professor from the Faculty of Economics and Business said that the three newly inaugurated professors have a heavy mandate. It is not only from their creativity in producing superior human resources, but also creative in conducting various research.
“With these professors hopefully we will strengthen our creative human resources,” said Nasih.
The three professors are Prof. Badri Munir Sukoco, S.E., MBA., Ph.D (Faculty of Economics and Business), Prof. Dr. Yosephine Sri Wulan Manuhara, Dra., M.Si (Faculty of Science and Technology), and Prof. Dr. Tuti Kusumaningsih, drg., M.Kes (Faculty of Dental Medicine).
The inauguration increased the number of professors of UNAIR, which are 173 professors since UNAIR became State University Legal Entity (PTN-BH), and 465 since UNAIR was established in 1954. (*)
